Why yoga?  I firmly believe that yoga is for everybody and every body. To me yoga is the exploration, discovery, and gift of space. This space is not just that which we take up on our mat, but it is the discovery of spaciousness within both our physical bodies and minds.

We are here, we live in a space, and we share it with others. While we have spatial limitations in the physicality of where we dwell, yoga teaches us how to thrive within this space and to continue to learn how to create space. A regular and deepening practice is one of the tools to gain greater access to just that. I know for myself that when I commit ahead of time to practice, I participate in the art of opening space in my schedule, and in doing so, exercise this notion in other areas of my life as well. Making time for yoga gives me permission to find that same spaciousness for the other activities, people, and values. Space is something that we all could probably use a little more of in our culture, and the act of creating it is life-giving. Let's move together!
